چکیده
In this editorial, we introduce the special issue on design science research in human-computer interaction with four papers extended from 2020 European Conference Information Systems and propose a conceptual model for such projects. Research interdisciplinary (HCI) discipline advances knowledge of how humans interact technologies, systems, information, work structures. Design (DSR) methods support three distinct modes HCI interior mode, researchers build evaluate novel technical solutions focus improved system interfaces to effective human use. Next, exterior behavioral process interactions that increase capabilities. Lastly, gestalt composite improve synergies between technologies behaviors. We pose comprehensive identifying DSR related artifacts, evaluation techniques, theories, impacts.

Human-computer interaction: psychology as a science of design
Human-computer interaction (HCI) study is the region of intersection between psychology and the social sciences, on the one hand, and computer science and technology, on the other. HCI researchers analyze and design specific user interface technologies (e.g. pointing devices). They study and improve the processes of technology development (e.g. task analysis, design rationale). They develop and...
متن کاملMachine Learning and Citizen Science: Opportunities and Challenges of Human-Computer Interaction
Background and Aim: In processing large data, scientists have to perform the tedious task of analyzing hefty bulk of data. Machine learning techniques are a potential solution to this problem. In citizen science, human and artificial intelligence may be unified to facilitate this effort. Considering the ambiguities in machine performance and management of user-generated data, this paper aims to...
متن کاملVariations of “Human Computer Interaction” syllabus in Computer Science area
In theory, course curriculum, also known as course syllabus, should play an important role in the success of learning. However, in practice course syllabus are often far from playing this role. In this paper, we analyze several course syllabus in order to better characterize learning expectations in the field of HCI (Human Computer Interaction) and Computer Science. We start by analyzing variat...
متن کاملThe Weak Science of Human-Computer Interaction
This article is about science and the discipline of humancomputer interaction (HCI). Science in HCI is merely one component of a wider agenda; alone science is not sufficient for ‘good’ HCI (whatever that is). We argue that science is necessary, but the way that science is undertaken—or purported to be undertaken—in HCI is inadequate. Failures are due to the sparsity of theories and risky hypot...
متن کاملBasic Research in Human–Computer–Biosphere Interaction
In this study, we present a vision of how a human–computer–biosphere interaction (HCBI) can facilitate a sustainable society. HCBI extends and transforms the subject of human–computer interaction from countable people, objects, pets, and plants into an auditory biosphere that is an uncountable, a complex, and a non-linguistic soundscape. As an example, utilizing HCBI to experience forest sounds...
